"This" being...?

And... coffee's in coffee. Ground beans and hot water. Sugar and cream, too, if that's what you prefer.

Getting other people's dreams.

Well I meant what makes it work for keeping you awake. But I guess that's like asking what makes any kind of food "work."

Wait, beans?

So it's confirmed that they're other people's and this has happened before? That's... a bit of a comfort and a little unsettling all at once.

Oh. That'd be the caffeine, then. It's in other foods like chocolate, though I doubt the cocoa that was coming down would wake you up the same way.

Yeah. Of a sort. Very hard beans.

Yeah. Last time it did was in May. It's not too pleasant, but if this is like then it should be over soon enough.

Yeah, cocoa usually is good for getting to sleep. So caffeine is like the vitamins, the things in food you can't see?

Wow. I wonder who came up with that.

Hm. Well, it's... informative, if nothing else.

Yeah, sort of like that. Some kind of chemical... something.

No telling. People will make food out of anything they can keep down.

Weird. I never knew that food had anything in it other than food.

That's true! But it's kind of a complicated process, isn't it?

Well, it's just made up of the same sorts of things most organic stuff is made of.

I'm not really sure. I never looked into what it takes to get coffee beans.
