A day for Brits, the plucky ones I'd never heard of, and ones I had heard of: Watson got the result she should, per her ranking; Murray didn't need to expend too much effort on his win; and young Kyle Edmund was really impressive in the fifth set, as he was playing a crowd. I dipped in and out of matches, so I kept missing the part where they explained how Bedene is the UK no. 2. Grumpily, I hope they'll focus more on the players who have a chance of winning - it's shocking, but Nadal is nowhere near favourite after ruling the roost here so long. I believe Djokovic is the favourite, although you'd never had guessed it in the commenary I heard of the Murray match! To be fair, Murray's had his best run ever on clay this year, though.
I am mostly pleased by the team ITV has reassembled: Jim Courier, talking American and being needled by Mark Petchey, knowledgeable Sam Smith and ebuillient Marion Bartolli, and Fabrice Santoro is there too. On the other hand, I'm not convinced John Inverdale knows his forehand from his backhand.
