where is the 'Worst album of the year' category?
out of curiousity, i decided to take a quick once over at the Juno nominees for this year to basically reaffirm to myself that all award shows are in fact dumb. The obvious "big" names are all there, and very little acknowledgement is given to anyone who is not (Finger 11, The Tea Party, The Tragically Hip, Avril Lavigne, Shania Twain, etc...)
It's depressing though that for all of the great canadian music that is out there, these are the most popular.
But now for the surprise, in the category of 'ALTERNATIVE ALBUM OF THE YEAR' we have Funeral-The Arcade Fire, Let It Die-Feist, Now, More Than Ever-Jim Guthrie, The Slow Wonder-A.C. Newman, Set Yourself on Fire-Stars
While this is probably not the only category all these bands should be in, i did not expect to see any of these mentioned at all.
