Well right now i'm in the middle of a break from the ACM competition. I'm on the reserved team, to our other 3 teams. I dind't really care about it, becuase i doubt anyone from UK would actualyl make it to internationals. Well I dind't know that people on teh reserve team dind't get free lunch. I'm like wtf. So i just walked back to my dorm to eat, since we have an hour lunch break. We just took some practice problems to allow everyone to get used to the Unix environment. They gave us 1.5 hours and 2 problems to solve. We solved ours pretty quickly, but it coudl have been quicker had the dude who typed up what i coded on paper dind't type so slow. In addition to that, he HAD to understand what my code was doing. I just told him to do it (because he was wasting our time and this is based on time and the number of problems you get correct). But he just ignored me and kept reading my code and thinking, slowly. It was so annoying because i knew my code worked. Well after he deciphered it, he coded it and it worked. We looked at the standings from all 22 teams. And being the RESERVED team, we beat all of the other UK teams that got free lunch. We were ranked third out of 22. And we still dind't get free lunch. Anyway, we could have placed higher if the dude would just do his part of the job. Well i have like 8 more minutes then i have to leave and compete for real. I doubt the problems will be as easy as they were, but i'm still mad about not getting free lunch. Lunch here is $7.15 per meal, it's a ripoff.
