fourth lie.

The day is almost over, and I still can't remember what I did yesterday.

Someone fill me in before I decide that burning down the gardens would make a much more interesting new memory.

[OOC: And Azula's refusal to do any of the deity decrees last month finally kicks in. Right after she spent a day harassing and intimidating virtuous young maidens ( Read more... )

I suspect that when people find themselves unable to remember what happened during a curse it is usually for the better.

So you like not knowing what you did yesterday.

I never said that! Rather, it could have been you who I saw involved in various loud and public altercations with other young women, and, not knowing you, I might think it wise not to burden you with such information.

I'm sure they deserved it.

It appears that I was mistaken in my assumptions, then.

Along those same lines, perhaps someone came along and erased your memories of it because they believed you to deserve it.

In that case, I'll just have to find them and show them what they deserve.

Good luck with that. Logically speaking, it seems unlikely that you'll get very far.

It was really more a figure of speech than anything. I doubt someone came along and erased my memories as some sort of punishment anyway.

More likely the deities did it for their amusement. That's another problem entirely.

I'm more inclined to think that it's both, personally, but you are of course otherwise right. Deity involvement does make it a bit more complicated and less prone to being solved by way of arson.

I'd admire their ability to avoid any consequences for what they do to us, I wasn't one of the people they were doing it to.

I don't think it's admirable regardless. There's nothing very interesting about being so powerful as to be beyond question.

You don't think so? I can't think of anything better.

Well, I might be more impressed if they had manipulated public opinion such that no one wanted to question them.

What's the point of being untouchable and in power if you don't get to see people fearing you?

If you want to do things the easy way, I suppose there isn't one. However, I'd hardly consider that worthy of admiration.

Good thing I don't care if anyone admires me or not. They should, of course, but so long as they fear me it doesn't really matter.
