Public Knowledge of Dick Grayson
Considering that he's been at St. Jude's for a year, I feel it's relevant to post what facts are readily known about him.
First of all, Dick is Public Relations for Student Government, which means he tends to run around putting up posters, interacting with the student body, and making announcements, among other things of the sort. He takes the job possibly a little more seriously than most people would.
He's on the cheerleading squad and the gymnastics team, and is actually objectively very good at both, good enough that if he wants to after high school he could seriously compete in gymnastics outside of scholastic boundaries. He's part of Speech Team, and works hard to do well in it, and a member of Chess Club, where he's middlingly good at winning games.
He hasn't had a girlfriend since he came to St. Jude's, despite the fact that he's been asked out by several girls over that time. He's friends with Dani Scoleri and teases Candice Monaghan a lot, because that's exactly what she needs, obviously.
He doesn't bully, and he actually speaks up about it when he sees other people doing it. He's not a narc, but he's pretty firm about not letting that kind of thing go on. He doesn't go to many parties, and when he does he only drinks one or two beers before he stops, and he's not known to smoke cigarettes or marijuana. To further cement his goodie two-shoe image, Dick is scrupulous about the dress code at school, and honestly still dresses with a lot more attention to image outside of school than most teenage boys.
There's a rumor that Dick is gay that goes around every now and then; if asked about it, Dick laughs it off and tells whoever's asking that no, it's not true.
He's the ward of Bruce Wayne, who is...pretty much fabulously wealthy, and pops up in the media from time to time due to his playboy life style. Dick doesn't volunteer the information that the Bruce who's his legal guardian (not adoptive father, as Dick is not, in fact, adopted) is the same Bruce who owns Wayne Enterprises. However, as such things are, it's pretty widely known around the school by now. The first day of school, he drove a Porsche there; the day after, he showed up in a used blue Chervolet Impala LS, which is the car he still drives.
Dick's open about having been raised within the circus, and his previous career as Boy Wonder of the trapeze, so that's another detail that could be floating around the student body. He still has a tendency to climb just about everything it's possible to climb, if he has the chance.
Another rumor going around from time to time is that Bruce Wayne wanted a ward for reasons besides raising the boy; when this is brought up to his face, it's one of the few things that can make Dick stop smiling before he explains briefly to the speaker that they should go fuck themselves, thought not always in that language, depending on who it is.
He's not sensitive about his parents' death, but he steers the conversation away from it quickly if it comes up, with vague words about being over it now. When asked about Bruce, Dick fidgets and says similarly vague things about how he's a good guy, if sort of irresponsible. He's much more effusive about Alfred Pennyworth, who you would never realize was a butler from talking to Dick about him, but again, that's relative. As friendly as Dick is, he's curiously closed off most of the time, and doesn't actually seem to have any really close friends or a clique he falls in with.
