go giants! go hillary!

I just came across someone on LJ who posted saying that they didn't know whether to support Obama or Clinton on Tuesday, could people please try to convince them? It was too tempting for me to pass up, and so I ended up typing up this long-ass list of why I'm supporting Hillary Clinton, which I'm going to include here under a cut tag, mostly ( Read more... )

Me three. I call or e-mail her regularly about bills of interest to me (I have her Senate office number in my phone: "Hillary -- US Senate"), and I get periodic e-mails from her office that always sound like they were written by her (even though they probably aren't).

I love her, and I agree with everything Jess said. Go Hil!

I love her, too! Go Hil!

And I love that you have her Senate number on her phone, that's so awesome!

It makes me so happy to find out that others had the same experience! Yay, Hillary!

I could definitely vote for either one of them as President (and would be happy to!) but am still hoping for Hillary to pull it out. We'll see!

She has some strong down sides, but most of those are the flaws that go with being a successful politican.

That's such a great assessment of her, and totally what I believe about her, too.

Yes, go Hillary!

I was one of those who was against the war (I attended peace/protest meetings before hand, which makes me wonder if I have an FBI file or something!) and I'm kind of surprised by how easily I've been able to get past her vote. Her argument has been pretty consistent: That she gave Bush the kind of authority she'd want as president. Which, admittedly, isn't the greatest if you're, you know, into the whole separation/balance of powers, which I generally am. But I can definitely understand her vote, both because of the climate of the country and her need to establish herself as tough enough to make those kinds of calls.

I get kind of irritated when Obama criticizes her for that vote, since he wasn't even in the Senate at the time to be on the record about it! It's easy to say now how you would vote, with the benefit of hindsight and an anti-war culture; it's harder to say where he would have stood a few years ago.

Hillary is my choice for similar reasons, but I have to admit that the bottom line for me is that she is a viable *female* candidate for president, and I want her to win because it is high time we had a woman running the show.

I am super-excited to see a woman as a serious contender for the presidency, too!

I'm voting for Hillary, although I think Obama is great too. In Illinois... and on my fl actually, it seems that Hillary supporters are in the minority. I love your reasons for voting for her.

Thanks, Shana! I feel like a lot of LJ leans toward Obama, so I'm excited to find another Hillary supporter. Go Hillary! :)
