Against all odds, I have been invited to the office Christmas party, which is to be held at a swank French restaurant next Saturday. None of my other offices have invited their temps to off-site shindigs (or did they do so and just not invite ME? - what a thought!). Either way, I'm invited this time, and I'm going! You should tell her that you are a Jehovah's witness or an atheist or something and therefore don't do holiday decorations.

Cool that you are going to a swank French restaurant for a swank office holiday par-tay. Treat yourself to a new outfit, you deserve it.

I fully intend to buy something I can't afford at the mall tomorrow. It's a skill!

And I'm so glad you called tonight!! It was so good to talk to you -- hope to catch you Sunday. Want to hear more about the Cornell thing!!! (Also: I just had to think for a couple of seconds whether "here" or "hear" was right in the previous sentence. I'm losing my mind.)
