Poetry: Iconic

V. specific response to v. specific set of prompts, which was really useful in focusing in on exactly what I wanted to say, rather than sacrificing one line for the convenience of another. So while I really agree with it, I know I've now got to take a step back from it in order to edit.

Iconic

Save me (Not a killer)
Touch a wound (pull away)
Listen to me!
I need to save her.
Glance at me
Across the room
"Tell you a secret"
Tell ME a secret
Don't be disappointed
Ridiculously so.
Not looking for trouble
Look skyward
Look away.
Look at me!
Glance at me
Across the room
Brought to tears
By what you've lost
What will I lose?
Save me! (Not a killer. Not a killer)
Big trouble
Is what you are
What we have.
You rescue
You're hunted (by me)
"Grin an bear it"
I met you
My loyalties conflict.
Enjoy the moment
"I like what I see"
Not embarrassed
You're hunted (by what you've lost)
What will I lose?
"I'll outlive you"
