Fairytale (short piece)
Arthur/Merlin pre-slash

In a forest in Camelot lies a tower, a single gleaming white tower stretching high above the treetops. In this tower lives a young, golden prince, cursed by a sorceress banned from her home, his kingdom. The prince can never set foot outside the tower, never return home or take up his throne until he proves himself different from his bigoted father. The prince will be free only when his love for one with magic exceeds his love for the man who banished it from the kingdom.
The king mourns the loss of his heir, but sends cooks and maids to serve in the tower in the woods, and keeps his son well stocked with strong weapons and good books, and sends out knights to search for the sorceress who trapped him there.
And then, one day, the prince steps out of his room at the top of the high tower to find he has been sent a new manservant, a dark-haired young man who would change everything.

I would love to see what happens next; alas, I am terrible at writing dialogue. If anyone is interested in writing the story, they are more than welcome to take it up. Just toss me a link if you post it!
