“And now, our lucky two winners!” some alien announcer yelled out and Luke winced at the bright lights pointed at the stage.
“What did we win?” he asked the grinning man next to him.
“I think it’s something like being prom king and queen.”
“Prom?” Luke asked, head pounding. He had no idea where he was, and wasn’t sure he wanted to know.
“Sure,” the other man grinned. “Dance around a little, be a prize couple, maybe kiss a little…”
Luke blinked at the man in shock.
“Name’s Kirk.”
Luke made an inarticulate sound in the back of his throat.

At first Dick thought it was just some other meeting, where he’d have to smile brightly at people he loathed the sight of, the thought of, and he’d have to pretend to only be so fit to act the part of Bruce Wayne’s spoiled ward…
But something about the man standing across from him, smiling brightly at everyone while towering over them all made Dick suspect him of not being the typical socialite or business man. His instincts were telling him to fear this man, but his gut was disagreeing. His gut was telling him to offer the man sunflowers.
