My Brain is Overactive Even in Sleep

Okay, so, I had a dream that was pretty awesome and that could be turned into a story of some kind. It actually was a story.

So I'm not entirely sure what the hell was up with some of the things, but it's on either this more fantasy world, or a Sci-Fi world that was something like Knights of The Old Republic. But there was this massive ancient tower that the main character was trying to figure out. Like each level was vastly different and later they figure out it's this giant puzzle tower. I'm not sure how many levels it is, maybe 45? Anyway, a lot. She's the head of a team and also the teacher of this school for... witches? Anyway, they're all female and they spew curses like no tomorrow. Then she has the team with her trying to figure the whole tower thing out. They're on like level 5, which is an open level (with balconies and stuff) when suddenly this natural disaster happens. Lightening, flooding, ect. Not sure why or really what it was, but it happens and someone is like, you have to get somewhere covered and safe! No idea what's on the first floor (as it floods about this point) but on the second floor is this colony of people who live in this box thing? Anyway, they were the only ones prepared for this, so everyone else (humanish) is trying to get into this colony because once they close up the box thing it's closed for like a 100 years. So some people die trying to get in there, and then that levels starts flooding, so they have to run up to the third. So, in this tower now (because other people ran into it) is the team trying to figure it out (which features the main character and her aide, and her lover), the witches school, and this bunch of high school type students who are apparently total idiots.

So each floor is this puzzle so for a lot of the time they're running up stairs. Eventually they get back up to the 5th level, the first one with windows that can see the outside, and it's flooded up to like the third level, but the outside is kinda calm. So they're all, okay, this is fine. But then as the main and the aide are exploring, this like Harry Potter character shows up in this room with all these books. And there's this meter off to the side, and every time he talks about the books or learning a spell the meter goes up. When the main says she's going to teach him, or that he needs to do something else, the meter goes down. They figure out when the meter is full, they need to move to the next level and as soon as they say that it fills so they're like "SHIT! RUN!" as the boy starts to morph into  something else. So they're all running, but the lover is sitting at this table, and he's just not moving. So the main grabs his journal and is yelling at him to come but he's not so she just has to go. (The only objects she has is her notebook, a planner, and now her lover's journal).

Later they hear a shot but then they're on the 6th level, where there's all these men that are like dressed up in mime makeup and suits from like the 1900s, but they're talking like show magicians. They keep talking about something in a box, and they're really creepy. This is where all the high school types show that they're idiots as they're taking in by the creepy magicians (Kinda like the villains from Dark City). What's in the box is the lover's body, and the main can't figure out if he shot himself or if someone else did. But he's dead and the magicians are all "HAHA!" Somehow they get out of that one, but I'm not sure. The 7th level is this just this giant square room, with that same meter on one of the walls. But there doesn't seem to be any danger, so the remainder take turns sleeping in 6 hour shifts. Of course then eventually something happens... But then I woke up.

So the thing is they have to keep going up, they can't go back because each floor they leave in a state of danger, but it seems like the creatures or whatever can't move off from their own level. So yeah, it would be interesting to try and write that, and figure out what each level would be. And name the characters.

I really want to call it The Tower, but did Stephen King write a novel called that? Or was his The Dark Tower? Hm...

writing, dream
