Sounds interesting, although Medieval Islamic Societies sounds a bit terrifying. I took that scary class on Islamic history 500-1500 last quarter (and barely scraped a B without understanding anything of the last half of the class); I stopped by the "Islamic World" room in the British Museum in morbid curiosity as to how much I remembered. I was like, yeah, the Abbasids...the Fatimids, the Mamluks, the Seljuks...I remember these names, but don't have a clue what they were doing...gah. Fail class.
I knooooww...I'm really wishing I had a car. The bus trip was fantastic though. There were only 2 bus options to get to Edinburgh from London, one that left at 9am and the other that left at like, midnight. I'm so glad I was smart enough to get the day one in hopes I could do a lot of sightseeing along the way, because it did NOT disappoint!!

Ahhhh yeah. I have a fairly solid background on Middle East, so I'm hoping this will work out decently enough. I get to present a panel on Nomads. XD I'm excited.
Ah yeah, totally. We took a train from Edinburgh to York, and then from York to London and those were both pretty awesome rides. A bus might have been even better--I remember driving around Ireland was pretty great. But yeah, I hope you're enjoying Edinburgh I love that city so damn much.
