I sent this to Apple today. I have been getting more frustrated with the iPhone application banning as time has gone on. Today I found out they had banned the Google Voice app, which I had been waiting for excitedly. This is what I sent:
I am disappointed. I bought an iPhone when they first became available. I bought my wife an iPhone 3G. I was planning on getting an iPhone 3Gs for myself in the near future. I will not be doing so. I will probably be moving to another platform that is more open. I support innovation and competition. Apparently you and your partner, AT&T, are afraid to let these things occur outside of your own strict control. AT&T is already grossly overcharging and under performing in comparison with providers the world over. Don't let their disabilities cripple your own company. Please allow things such as Google Voice to flourish. Open up your platform and stop banning applications. You are only harming yourselves.
Thank you for your time,
