Fire Pearls Submissions

As some of you know I submitted a few poems to an anthology this week - and I am happy to say that four of the seven have passed the first cut! As this is only the third submission in my life (the other two were to magazines, both published one poem) I am ecstatic. So, do a happy dance for me and read the four that made the first cut::

Life is eternal
But love s so fickle and
Openly fleeting.
Why must my heart cling to the
Things that I can never keep?
--
All I can give you
Is my body, my heart and
My undying soul.
Such inconsequential things.
They would not interest you.
--
I am so obsessed
With meaningless poetry
And these useless words.
I have neglected my love
Trying to word my feelings.
--
When I see you here
My heart is set fluttering
In my eager breast
I hear your seraphic voice
And I am paler than grass.
