There's good news - and bad news. Somehow my poetry found it's way to a critic, a rather harsh critic who rejected a friends work on the basis that it was '...immature, pointless, and utterly worthless'. She was... 17 at the time, but still, the criticism was hardly constructive, and we had a hard time convincing her to write again. So, someone gave him a link to my My Space, which led him here, and he trawled through my posts.
He read the last ones last yesterday, and sent me a message via my other e-mail address where he said, and I quote "...obviously a gifted and passionate young writer, ...I'll be glad to read more!".
SQUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ^_^_^_^_^_^_^
Phew. Ok. Squee over. I did get that message yesterday at about 3, but I had to check it was real before I posted anything. Apparently he thinks I should mail some copies to other authors and poets and ask them for advice as he usually deals with more modern western forms of poetry. And that I should also start looking up myths and beliefs connected with ancient Japan, not to mention start learning the language, so that they will translate well.
His fave was apparently :
""I do not see you
And instead I will watch
This nights ink dark moon.""
He liked the Ono no Komachi/Izumi Shikibu quote. ^_^
Oh, and he actually noticed my Sappho quote!!!!!
