I am writing you in reference to your CD Fear Before the March of Flames and your interview in Hard Music Magazine “Christian Magazine”.
I picked up the magazine at a christian book store as a gift for my sister because she liked Hard Music (Norma Jean, Copeland, Under oath), then she came across your CD and interview in HM Magazine.
I read your interview in the magazine and listened to some of your music, then read the lyrics and I have some questions and thoughts.
Brandon Proff,
You were asked the question “what do you think about Jesus Christ? Some things you said,” I became a Christian in Middle School” , “ It was completely something that happened to me and it was amazing. And so right now it’s just a constant journey… It’s really rough, because I’m young and very imperfect-especially being in a touring band. There’s a lot of things that can really challenge me and get in my way, but I have a lot of accountability from all my Friends at home and stuff like that. It’s been a very interesting life to have for me, I guess, being in a band and stuff like that, but at the same time having something that I’m totally in love with and have as part of my life-even though I don’t have many opportunities to surround myself with people who believe the same thing.”

A few weeks after my sister got the magazine and had your CD, my brother got a disturbing letter from her and pictures of cutting she had done to herself and he said quote “ when I saw the pictures I almost threw up.”
Angelica is 16 yrs old, my entire family has watched her go from a very happy, funny, socially beautiful girl. To someone depressed, distraught, unsure of her self and wondering why she’s here and very emotionally confused and she surrounded herself with the same people who believed that same thing and listened to the exact same music.
When she would cut she had on your music or one of the others I mentioned earlier, almost like it was inspirational.
Another question asked of you was and I quote “ From your perspective, how do chaos and melody marry in your music? Your Answer and I quote “ I don’t know exactly. It just kind of happens. You want it to be intense. I really like music that kind of suffocates you, I guess. It’s like “ oh my goodness!

Please know you have a huge influence on many secular and Christian teens today and you are and will be responsible for your actions one day.
Ask yourself this. Am I honoring Jesus Christ with my music and my life or Am I serving the god of this world?
Luke 17: 1-2 say’s AND [ Jesus] said to His disciples, Temptations (snares, traps set to entice to sin) are sure to come, but woe to him by or through whom they come! 2 It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were hurled into the sea than that he should cause to sin or be a snare to one of these little ones.
