Evil Thyroid

This goes out to all of you who are so tired it seems impossible to put one foot in front of another, to all those who cannot loose weight no matter how little we eat or how much we do, to those who cannot seem to stay well for any period of time.

Get your thyroid checked. Even if your TSH reads ~normal~. Get your doc to get you a thyroid ultrasound.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia many years ago, but my TSH was always normal. My sister was diagnosed with hashimoto's thyroiditis some years ago. Finally just recently, I went thru a couple of weeks of absolute hell. I also felt like someone was pushing their thumb into my throat. Even tho there was no visable or palpable lump. I convinced my doc to get me a thyroid ultrasound, low and behold there was a nodule there. Even tho my TSH and free T3 showed normal. Hurm.. it all just proved to me what I had already known, for people such as me that blood test is just about useless.

The ultrasound, then on to the thyroid uptake scan and then the biopsy proved that my thyroid has been failing for many years, hence, no energy, weight increase no matter what I did, and many of the other symptoms of the fibro can be attributed to the failing thyroid.

I then got him to put me on Armour Thyroid, which is what my sister recommended, as the synthyoid only made her feel worse. It makes sense, the pituitary produces the TSH which the thyroid converts. However if the thyroid or other organs are not working as they should, this hormone does not convert. Thus you can have a normal looking TSH, and still be hypothyroid.

And so, The Armour has free T3, which is what the thyroid normally converts to the T3. It also has T1 and T2. All of which most of the organs in our bodies need to work properly. Armour is a natural hormone from pigs, and it is also cheap.

Do the research on all of it, then take that and get the US, if only to rule the thyroid out.

I cannot tell you how much better I now feel. I had tried most of the things recommended for fibro treatment, none of which worked very well. But this one little pill makes all the difference in the world.

I am not completely well, I think had I known this for the last thirty years, much of the damage done to many of my organs could have been averted. As it is, they are damaged. But there are many more days I actually have energy to go and do things. I am staying well for longer periods of time. I am sleeping much much better.

So I urge you, not to trust the damn blood test, which the doctor admitted is not terribly indicative nor accurate. So why all these doctors over time used it to not test my thyroid I can't explain.

Oh and the same day I received the new diagnosis, my daughter Holly said she noticed a lump in her throat that grew to the size of a golf ball in a matter of days. Turns out, she also has a nodule on her thyroid, but is in a hyperactive state. hashimoto's runs in familys.
