(no subject)
Not sure what to say about this week. On Saturday I did my first grocery run on the bus. I only have to take one bus, thankfully, however the stop for the store (Meijer) is on the other end of the route so round trip it is an hour. I ate lunch there in their little eating area by the deli, and had entertainment watching the shoppers. I was anxious but I made it (with help from smoking before going), and happened to not buy more than I could carry. I need to figure out a method of getting meat/protein though, maybe pre-cooked stuff, since I don't trust the temps on the ride to be good for meat. On Wednesday I went to Target to pick up a prescription, but ate at Taco Bell first. TB is a place I usually go to once a week, but I haven't been to one in a month. I guess the only benefit to not having a car is that I am not going out to eat fast food as often....however, I think I am eating more in general and have been buying more snacks and things so it isn't a great trade off. I am seeing a little winter pudge develop.
Got a replacement tail light for the truck, and got a roll of duct tape that will fit over the bumper, so I can tape the valance back to the bumper. It has been too cold for my fingers to deal with it, but maybe this weekend I can get those 'repairs' done, and feel ready to take it to get the tire fixed...and be able to drive more or less again. It has been 3 weeks since I last drove. In a way it feels much longer, but I know in retrospect it won't seem like a long time. Not sure what I would do if I had to depend on the bus for my only transportation. It takes a lot of energy for me just to go to the store, not sure I could deal with doing it weekly.
Been feeling cruddy the past few days, have a headache today. Classes are still okay, and thankfully I got most of my homework done on Tuesday and the one assignment left had the due date extended. Made it to class today at least, only like 25% of the other students did. I might be developing a crush on my 'professor' - a grad student who is likely at least 5 years younger than me. Not like it would be the first time I've crushed on a professor!
