My new kid
I started babysitting, or nanny-ing, this 2 and a half year old boy. Normally at that age, they are starting to speak, socialize and interact with other people. This kid doesn't react to stimuli, he cannot speak, he moans, hisses, and yells. He doesn't like being picked up, and the most peculiar is that he doesn't respond to his name being called or normal stimuli like food or loud noises. he loses interest in every activity, and can't walk from point a to point be directly, he stops, does something else and forgets about where he is going. Now I am watching an encore presentation of Oprah of this kid who was neglected for nearly 7 years, and acted like an animal. Now I am putting the peices together with my kid. He has two working parents and was raised by a Chinese nanny who didn't speak much english, and didnt speak to him frequently. I am starting to think that the only thing he did was watch TV. Its alarming.
