Week 37

I'm 37 weeks now (and two days). Things look good and normal and whatnot. As of Monday Kassie is clocking in at 6lbs 15oz, so she'll probably end up being a hefty little thing by the time she makes her grand appearance in the big scary world ( Read more... )

I've never actually used this phrase before, but I think the Mexico arc was the show's "jumping the shark" point. The kids are a lot of the problem -- after killing that guy, the mother spent only three years in prison (one of the cops helped get her out early), and Shane (who now looks like an adult) is nothing but a lower-lip-quivering "kid" who just wants to make it up to her and gain her love. Hasn't that family learned by now that 'love' is not exactly on the top of her list? Shane went off to Netherlands and became a puppet master (seriously, award winning puppet show for kids), but he flew right back when the mother got out of prison. The older brother is even worse, he became a male model (ugh, he's not even good looking), and he outright hates the mother... while also trying to win her love back. The two pothead adults are tons worse and less believable.

I'm seeing the eps for free (*cough*BT*cough*) so I'm going to probably give it a couple more before giving up on it, but they keep leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Eee! Glad you're liking Glee! It's not 100% perfect, but I love it so. (And totally agreed -- douche move, Netflix!)

Wow. Just wow. That sounds truly awful, I really don't think I'll bother catching up/watching the new stuff. It was great and clever and funny in the beginning, but this sounds like it's just stupid now. Better things to watch!

I haven't see much of Glee so far, but what I have seen I've loved. Nice fun, lighthearted show. The other show I wanna hunt down is Nurse Jackie, I saw the first episode of that (somehow, can't remember where) and really liked it - dark humor, but I tend to have a thing for that kinda stuff. Unfortunately on Netflix it's a DVD-only thing, so I might have to obtain it via other means... if I can. Been trying to get A Baby Story (pregnancy has turned me into such a sap...) and I can't find that anywhere.

Yeah, Glee is really mostly light and fun, which wouldn't be what I usually like but is nice once a week. Now and then they dip their toes into more serious things, then they all start singing again and get over it. (Ha, the more I type, the more and more that really doesn't sound like something I'd watch.)

I used to watch A Baby Story all the time! Years back, when it was on when I came home for lunch. For some reason I really liked it, even not liking babies much.

I've never heard of Nurse Jackie before, but looks like there's a lot of it on that... private place that Val gave you the link for.

Hehe, I know the feeling. I told my sister she should watch it (I honestly think she'd love it) but she was all, "A show where everybody randomly busts in out song. ...Eh." I'm going to see if I can convince her to watch the pilot.

I don't know why I like that show. It's still on TV, but I don't get TV so I only see it occasionally at my mom's place. Found a few episodes on YouTube, but it's not on Netflix and I can't find it on any of my other reliables, so I'm super bummed. For some reason it makes me feel better about what I'm going to be doing in a few weeks - the more I get accustomed to the idea, the less terrifying it is. It's funny, though. I'm excited as hell about my own, but I still, for the most part, hate other peoples' babies... heh.

I'll have to look! I'd mostly forgotten about it but remembered it today. Gotta see a few more episodes, I think, but it seemed well worth getting into.
