Parisian Fashion Week
Jetlagged? Perhaps.
Fierce? Always!
Tori had been immediately flown to France in time for Paris Fashion Week. It had been hectic, but well worth it. Arriving at 6AM, her schedule had been jam-packed. A two hour drive through rush hour in Paris had ended in Tori being whisked backstage at the venue. Make-up artists, hair stylists and seamstresses had bombarded her endlessly, but Mae had rang her earlier to give her a few last minute tips:
"You'll be nervous - but once you're out there, it's a completely different nervous. It's an excited nervous! Jasper & Jemima are listed as one of the best up and coming fashion collaborators around at the moment, this is the opportunity of a lifetime. Be yourself, be fierce and make it work!"
The FDL cameras had been sweeping all around the venue but managed to grab a quick interview with Jasper & Jemima before the runway show kicked off.
Both extremely haughty French designers, Jemima spoke first.
"Naturally, we are worried with such an unknown representing our line, but Mae Rawcliffe has guaranteed that the girl can walk."
"She's a beauty on the eye," Jasper continued, "and she has a really captivating, flexible look. The only two worries I have are nerves and looking too commerical. This is high fashion, the best of the best. Usually on these catwalks, we have the most unique looking girls we can find. Whilst Tori isn't hugely original in features, we've been assured by Miss Rawcliffe that the girl has a fantastic pose and end-of-runway pose. Let us hope that she lives up to expectations, oui?"
Jemima gave a nod and a smile. "However, we're sure she can pull it off. Her look is a little commercial, but with the right outfit and styling she can easily do high fashion. We'd love to chat, but we must go!"
Jemima ran off to a model trying to get her feet into seven inch heels as Jasper gave an effeminate bow to the cameras. "Ciao!"
The J & J Spring Collection '08 began, and as expected, the seated rows of journalists, fashionistas, superstars and supermodels clapped each piece as they whispered positively between themselves. Jasper and Jemima both tensed as Tori made her way to the catwalk...
Tori gave an amazing performance and Jasper & Jemima were both ecstatic with her walk. "Tres bon, tres bon!" they cried and backstage, she was surrounded with kisses and hugs. A brilliant pose and a brilliant walk had got her recognized on the Parisian Fashion scene.
Barely having time to get her feet on French ground, she was flown straight back to America to join the FDL competition once again.
