Who has an eye for fashion?
Mae trotted into the agency giving a wave and pulling her sunglasses off her face, Holden following close behind.
"Hi ladies! You all look very chic and very in can I add, but we've been chatting to the other judges and have made a decision!"
She looked over at Holden, who smiled and stepped forward. "Before we get to the results, I'm going to go ahead and give you each your individual critiques first. Although only Mae and I could be here today, as she said, we have spoken to the other judges, and your critiques and our decision reflect that."
Fleur
"I think we all agreed that we really liked this, Fleur. Mae suggested replacing the yellow on the jacket with a white or navy, but I actually really like the combination of colors that you chose. The romper is just precious, I actually wish we could see more of it! You hair looks really great pulled back like that.

"You tried, but this really came out looking very 90s, and not in a good way. Colorblocking is usually done with complementary colors or colors that are similar. If you had gone with a different shade of pink, or even just white or gray, I think the top would have been a lot better. You also needed to work on the shading at the top. Your jeans are ok, but remember in the future that there is a difference between artfully ripped jeans and jeans that just... have rips. "

Vivienne
"We all agreed that we like the concept of the romper, but the color is just not working. One judge compared it to pondwater. Also, if I hadn't known that you were doing zippers, I would have never seen them. Just one going down the front would have been cuter. I know you need your scarves, but this one just seems out of place, both in the way it's hanging and the color."

Gabby
"All the judges were definitely in love with your top, because it's gorgeous, but some of us were thrown off by the rest of the outfit. The idea of doing ripped denim with a a sheer top is really great, and gives a very cool contrast, but it just looks like you stole a pair of jeans out of your little brother's closet circa 1997. A tighter fit and a more flattering length would have done wonders for you, and it would have put you at the top of my list for this week."

June
"While this isn't exactly what we meant by ruffles, this is still a great outfit. Mae actually said you looked like an androgynous cheerleader (in the best possible way), which is a particularly apt comparison. I'd actually have liked to see this without the little jacket. (Also, you might want to keep an eye on the dress when you get home, because I think my sister is planning on stealing it. Just a warning!)"

Suki
"We all agreed that you made a good effort, but that it was a little boring. The shirt is pretty, but could have been executed better. Also... you did ripped denim, right? Where is it? Those capris look pristine to me! I think you kind of took the lazy way out here."
*
Calla
"We were a little torn on this, actually! One judge (and I won't name names here) absolutely hated the ruffles. I don't mind them, though. Both Mae and I agreed that you should have used another fabric. For me, it's just too formal and too clingy. The color is absolutely divine on you, however."
*
Letitia
"From the top up, I think we were all totally crazy about this look. The jacket is perfect, and you were the only girl who really used zippers in the way that I had envisioned. Playing around with pose and props was a very bold choice, and it worked, because it made you stand out! My only complaint (and it should be said that not everyone was as bothered by this as I was) is your pants! If you had gone with black or a dark denim, I would have loved this outfit about a million times more, but right now it's too matchy-match, and that pushes it over the edge from something that's actually really wearable to something that looks like a costume."
*
Emmeline
"I think we all agreed that we were not really crazy about this. The colors on the jacket just look like they belong on a six year old boy or something. The style of it isn't awful, but... it just isn't working. We love the pants, though, they're great."
*
Lehana
"Fashionably late again, Lehana? This looks great on you! This really needed to be toned down a little, though. If the skirt wasnt' quite so transparent, it would have been okay, but right now, just like Letitia, it's a little more costumey than it is actually wearble. I would have loved to see this with a fitted blazer, or something else over the top."
"So, that's everyone," Holden said, taking a step back. "I'm going to go ahead and hand it back over to Mae, who's going to announce the winner and your prize!"
Mae grinned and moved to address the girls. "We had a difficult time deciding on one winner for this challenge, and so rather than make you wait while we fought amongst ourselves, we compromised! We picked three winners, and they are
June
Fleur
and Letitia!
As a prize, the three of you will be featured in the June issue of Spark Magazine, in an article about Spring and Summer fashions!"
