Luggage. You can take it more places than you can take a tent. Besides, your other friends are saying "tent", which makes me think your're the sort of person who already has one but can always use another or better one. This sort of person, and I speak from experience, never has enough luggage.

Made a decision

Okay, after months of internal debate I made a last-minute change of tactics ... I decided to get an air purifier. I would never buy myself an air purifier, but since I like shopping for both luggage and tents I decided an air purifier that has been pre-selected for me by someone else would be the appropriate gift. It meets all my requirements for a gift: something I wouldn't get myself, yet practical and useful. Since I can't sleep with fans I'll run it during the day and see how the air quality improves in my place. Thanks for your help!!!
