Last night was fun.
An early celebration part1 for AL. Dinner @ Yen Dining/Oosh at Dempsey Road. Really nice place that serves great-tasting japanese food. Yesterday night was the first time i had warm sakae. Yes, i'm a country bumpkin. Warm sakae is good. The unagi-don i had was eel'o'heaven.
After dinner, a few of us decided to do some really serious board-gaming at Minds Cafe.
First game we decided to try was this dinosaur thingy. See the bones? Basically each player has to collect 8 cards of the same breed of dinosaur. Players shall keep swapping cards with each other till they collect all 8. First player to collect 8 similar cards snatch a bone & the other players have to snatch too. The one who doesn't end up with one of the dinosaur ribs has to do a forfeit.
Well, that's what's supposed to happen. But when you play with close colleagues, rules are all broken. Backs and bones as well.
1) My director, supposedly a very creative person decided to make this game even harder by putting all the bones below the damn table. So in the end all of us were sitting an arm's length away from the table so that we'll have enough space to bend over.
2) The card swapping was supposed to be done in an orderly manner- but once again, when you're playing with close colleagues, all rules are broken. we were just discarding cards randomly on the table and taking snatching whatever card we could see.
3) You can fight with your boss for a bone after working hours. You don't have to give in. =)
4) I ended up with a thigh cramp while bending over to snatch for a bone. HAHAHA. it was crazy.
So cheryl lost the dino game cos all she cared about was the potato wedges. The forfeit was to take a picture with anyone we pointed out at the cafe..aiya. so we made her take a picture with the waiter who hates her. Hahahaha.
See, he doesn't even wanna look straight.
AL, the birthday girl. Who uses her leg to pick up bones.
no, we didn't play the truth or dare style la. not quite safe yet. HAHA. i hate this jenga game. everyone complains i'm too slow. :(
Playing Jenga with Grace sucks. She yanks out wood-very well. Then i'm left to deal with the damn tower of wood blocks swaying in an awkward position. :/
Last game we played was bluff buster. You've to decide if each player is lying when he/she places a card faced down. If he's not, you've to take the entire stack of cards discarded by all the other players, if he is, he takes back everything. Aim of the game is to clear your cards. what's fun is probably sticking up the card by slamming down the buster-bunny on it. haha.
What's awesome about Board games cafe is when chairs flip & there're lots of screaming, nobody cares! :D
Church tomorrow, and our show's BBQ party.!
