once CC uploads the rest of the pictures tonight, i'll compile them with mine and tell you guys about my adventure today. :)
[EDIT]:
Today was my first day at trying wakeboarding. have always wanted to give it a go but apparently the friends around me aren't really the sort who're willing to swallow mouthfuls of salt-water and bask under the sun..well at least i still managed to find a few crazy ones who did so we decided hey let's go wakeboarding! woohoo. now we can die in peace and say we did smth 'extreme'.
anyway some tips when ure going for your first wakeboarding lesson:
1) pray fervently that you will get an uncle/pak cik for your instructor. why not a cutie you ask? please lor. with all the tak-glam falls and awkward postures, you'll feel less conscious. HAH.
2) keep your mouth closed in the water at all times. even when the instructor yells out what to do, just wave to signal that you understand. salt-water in the mouth isn't the issue. fishes and unidentified floating objects are your utmost concerns.
3) Wearing a bikini is dumb. cos you might get your boob(s) exposed. thank goodness i decided on a sports bra :/
anyways, our instructor jim looks like an exact replica of mike. haha. it's funny when they say you have a twin/look-alike somewhere else in this world. :/ i managed to get up on the board and go a distance maybe aft my 4th/5th try? it was fun!! and bloody hell none of them managed to capture my historic moment on camera! boo.the worst part was that i had too big a pair of feet and the bloody instructor didn't believe me when i said it hurt when i had to squeeze my foot into the 'shoes' bloody.
it's kind of adrenalin kickin when you're out drifting @ sea and you're depending on a lonnnngg rope to pull yourself up. i would say the most difficult part of wakeboarding was when I fell and landed forward because the weight of the board keeps you down and you gotta kick yourself over. isn't as easy as it seems cos it requires you to keep calm mentally- you will have the tendency to struggle and panic initially because falling forward and staying that way even though you have a life jacket on is a very awkward position; especially if you have mini waves coming at you. taking off the board wasn't easy too.
the funniest part of the day was when CC's contacts came off- one side! she was literally a one-eye jack the whole day. haha.
