This morning we got up fairly early and drove north.
A bit later we crossed into Maine.
Despite all the signs speaking about them, we saw no moose.
We went to Windham Maine to visit our friend
gilden For some reason, our adventures with him seem to involve places where the pavement ends.
He is up from South Carolina as his father is not doing well.
It is much easier to visit him 2 1/2 hours away in Maine than 20 hours away in South Carolina. And, given the situation with his father, he needed cheering.
Hopefully we helped.
On our way back south we stopped for lunch. We were driving through the center of one of the towns. Most places looked empty. A deli was packed. So, that’s where we ate. Good food.
The rest area on the Maine Turnpike has bears.
They also sell live lobsters. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only rest area along a state turnpike that does this.
Then, out of Maine into New Hampshire.
There we stopped at Tom’s for his strawberry and solstice party he and his wife were having.
Their daughter is walking. As Tom’s wife is a professional photographer, this is being well documented.
My wife helped so they could all be in it. (OK, except their son who was indoors with his grandmother…)
When we got home to Massachusetts I did an accidental science experiment. When you drop a bottle of diet Pepsi from the height of my car’s trunk will explode and shoot across the parking lot covering everything in diet Pepsi?
Yes. Yes it will.
