Extra in an action movie

Just after lunch today I saw two cars pull into the parking lot here at
work.
They circled around a bit, then came to a stop.

A young man, around twenty or so, jumped out of the back of one of the cars
and ran very fast away from them. When he reached the edge of the parking
lot he tripped on the snow and went sprawling.
He looked back at the cars, got up and resumed sprinting across the lawn.
The two cars drove quickly out of the parking lot and turned off to the
road in the direction the kid ran.
The kid took one look in their direction and ran into the woods behind out
building.

About 30 seconds later, two police cars went speeding down the road in the
direction everyone had gone with lights and sirens going.

As the building as a great big glass front, almost everyone I worked with
saw this happen at the same time I did.
No one recognized the cars or the kid.

Makes me wonder what’s going on.
I’ll probably never know.

The purchasing woman who sits next to me just asked if I got the license
plate of the cars.
“Oops,” I said. “I didn’t even think of that.”
“But, you take pictures of everything.”
“I got some great video of the turkeys fighting over a waffle this
morning,” I said. “But, I missed this whole Borne Identity thing.”
Sad.

work, weird, strange
