Say what now?

This afternoon I got an email from a headhunter:
“I hear you are looking for a job and know of a position for a mechanical
engineering at an ‘award winning furniture company in Hudson’ if you are
interested.”
I wrote back:
“AIS where I worked for 6 years before they laid me off in the big
recession 5 years ago?”
“Oh, yeah. That’s probably not a good idea, is it?”
“If they wanted me back, they know where to ask, and haven’t.”
As I talk about my work as the project manager for two different product
lines a lot on my resume, I’m pretty sure this headhunter didn’t look past
my email before sending me this job.

Then, I got a very strange call on my cellphone. I don’t normally get
calls during the day. And, if they do, they’re usually for the sword
troupe.
“Hello?” I said when it rang.
“Did you just call dirty girl?” a woman asked.
“What?”
“I’m returning the call to dirty girl you made.”
“What?”
“Dirty Girl Waste Disposal?” the person said. “Didn’t you just call us?”
“No. This is my cellphone and it’s been on my desk all day. So, I’m
pretty sure no one used it to call you.”
“Sorry to have bothered you,” she said and hung up.
I checked it out on line. It is apparently and all female waste disposal
company one town over from where I work.
OK, if I need a waste disposal company, I’d be happy to call them.
But, I hadn’t called them today.

Maybe it’s just me, but these things seemed strange to me.
