So, these are pictures from our roaming about in NYC yesterday as in my
other post.
In the arms and armor exhibit, they have the “heraldic symbols of King
Arthur and his court”. OK, 1000 years too late, etc. But, I thought it
was interesting that the Lancelot one was this one:

After all, purple is the favorite color of the guy who plays it…
This jousting armor was one of many identical suits made in the late 1500’s:

I guess they get a lot of use out of it. It says the last time one of
those sets was used was 1936. 1936? My dad was out of college and these
guys were still jousting in the armor made 350 years before? I thought I
was doing well to get 18 years out of a sword…
I would never wear this helm when I needed my head protected. But, I still
think it’s cool:

Here are some of the German rapiers, the falchion (that has a grip like the
one Perrin’s used to), and some daggers from the collection:

This is what it was like outside the museum. There were probably more
people outside than in, but it didn’t feel that way.

This is my wife trying to get a working subway ticket while others look on
and taunt. (It’s a good thing she was in a good mood, and going for food…)

This is the food. Actually, this is what was left after our table stopped
eating. Our table finished first, so we won, but the second table had a
lot more food to start.
