My new company had a picnic. It was catered by a nice barbecue place and was pretty good, even if not many folks played the games.
We did spend a day and a half in New Hampshire at the house of our friends. Despite three barky dogs it was quite peaceful.
On the way home we stopped at our friend Tom’s house to celebrate his turning 50.
I got together one night to have dinner with my old coworkers from the last place I worked. It was nice to catch up.
This time of year there is a lot of driving at sunrise or sunset.
Anyone who watched the old Space 1999 show knows the moon got blown out of Earth orbit on September 13th, 1999. So, this week was the 25th anniversary of that.

Today we went to see my aunt who has been moved to a new retirement home near the museum where we used to do our sword research. (The museum closed more than a decade ago now…)
Going off to do the shopping tonight I found a bag of balloons in the foyer to our apartment. I think a party is nearby looking for them.
I should have known from the dramatic clouds that the shopping would not go well. The store near us is closing next month and they have clearly reached the "we’re not going to restock anymore" phase.
There are 5 other markets in town, and a whole bunch more not too far away. So, we’re not going to starve. But, we’ve been shopping there for more than 30 years, so it is sad to see it close. I wonder what will go into that space after…
