I’m not saying things have gotten bad at work, only that my coworkers are carrying axes…
I spent a lot of Monday with someone from accounting looking for the little blue tags on the back of systems to prove we bought what we promised with company money.
I didn’t bring an axe. There was regret.
The weather all week was weird.
Tuesday was a visit to the eye doctor about my cataracts.
My pupils were still big when I got to the office.
Wednesday I went to get my hair cut and had to ponder, why does GPS prevent tailgating?
I do not know, but gave it space.
Coming home, more weird clouds. Or some sort of void opening above home…
Or, it could have been the approaching hurricane…
Thursday, back to the eye doctor for eye measurements.
Saturday: Rain. Wind. Not too bad…
Sunday, START on the Street, the Worcester street art festival. The storm had passed and the day was great.
I liked the metal dragon.
Both Captain America and Batman were outside the comic book store.
Two sword fight groups and a dance group.
I liked the woman with the bug helmet fencing.
One of the guys sitting in the tent told her she was using her sword wrong after scoring three hits in a row on her opponent.
"Put on your armor and I’ll show you wrong," she replied.
I have to admit, that seemed the perfect response to me.
I liked that they had folks join in one the wood carving.
I liked this sign on this restaurant. It was not our plan to eat there, but I will go back in the area.
Instead we ate at the ice cream stand near sword practice as it is the last day they’ll be open this year and my wife likes their apple fritters.
We made it a picnic lunch along the river near there. It was nice, but my wife suffered a milk shake malfunction that used up a lot of towels and napkins.
Despite her injury, she did pick up a sword today, so she’s making progress.
Casey was very impressed.
It was a beautiful day for practice.
