6x6 or 3x12?
13148 days, 21 hours, 29 minutes and 13 seconds ago from when I write this I first said no to a drink.
(Yes, I do have a spreadsheet called “quit clock” that counts it to the second…)
In 2 1/2 hours that will make it 36 years.
I have continued to say no for all those years.
That has not always been easy.
Three dozen years and there is still that voice saying “You could handle it now. Think of how much older, wiser and more controlled you are then you were in 1986.”
It’s good that the much larger part of my mind says “You can’t handle it. It would take a while to slide down that slope, but if you start, you won’t stop until the bottom.”
I know which one is right.
I don’t even want to go near the edge of that slope.
I’m glad I’ve dodged it all these years. I’m also glad I don’t get too close.
