For the first three days of work this week, my wife was on the other side of the table as normal.
I did formally tell the organizer of the show in Pensacola that we wouldn’t perform there this year. It’s sad as we’ve performed there for 19 years only to miss 20. But, plague…
And, the idea that they’ve added "wild west" to the show didn’t thrill me either…
Thursday my wife had to start going back to work at her office. 5 days a week! That’s madness! (Yes, at this time last year I would have found it perfectly normal, what’s your point?)
It did snow in protest.
Friday was game night and we played a game none of us knew. That made it "interesting"…
Saturday morning I got to the Covid testing place at 7:40 for their stated opening time of 8:00. I got to be the first car in waiting line 4…
I was soon given my tube for my sample. (It’s not that bad. Spit up to the 5 line…)
Before 8, my line was moving, so they must start early.
I got my test results in about 12 hours and I was happy to see I am now negative for the virus!
It is hard to state how happy this made me.
So, I called the auto club to get my car towed so I could get it fixed after sitting there not working for the last 6 weeks.
The guy with the tow truck said "let me try and jump start it."
"Will that work with a hybrid?"
"Let’s see!"
It did and I was able to drive my car over to the dealership to get looked at on my own!
They’re going to call me tomorrow about how much it will cost…
Saturday night our friend Lance led a Sea Chanty sign on line.
As I’ve stated, there have been communication issues with my aunt since she moved.
So I decided to give her one of my old phones.
My wife suggested getting a new case that would be more visible. The one on the right was the most visible I could find.
I took it over to her new place, less than 10km from where I live.
They wouldn’t let me in to give it to her, and it will be quarantined until tomorrow. But, she should get it and then it will be easier for us to talk.
(Assuming she follows the instructions with photos I left in the box with it…)
On the way home I noticed the local ski area was making snow and running lifts. They’ve got their inner tube slope going too…
I stopped at the store on my way home, for the first time since early December, and picked up the things the delivery service didn’t give us.
Being able to even go to the store again seemed very extravagant after the last few weeks…
