My work place really, really wanted me to get a Covid test and find out if I had caught it. I’m 99.99% sure I have, but I’m willing to do the test.
The only issue is that today a quarter of a meter of snow fell…
About 11 in the morning it seemed to be tapering off, so I called the test lab.
We’ll open at 12:01, the woman told me.
So, I cleaned off the car and headed to Worcester.
When I got about 35 minutes early, there the only thing was a sign saying "Covid testing closed, come back another time".
I drove all over looking for more information the parking lot, but couldn’t find any.
I called the test lab again and they said "12:01 we open!" So, I stayed there.
There were two other cars there, none of which indicating they knew where they should be, but the first one was near a hut, so I figured they must know.
But, then two more cars came in and it started to get less clear.
The good news was that someone who worked there must have been watching and came out and lined us up in the order we arrived without having to ask anyone.
I was handed a vial and told "5ml of saliva before you get to the window of your lose your place in line."
I was glad I was early.
The drop off was like a bank teller drive through were you had to circle around the lot, go up to a window, and drop your vial in the tray. The tray was iced over, but the lever broke it.
Then, back onto the roads for the 4km drive home.
I don’t know when I’ll get the results.
I’m not optimistic about them.
I am glad my wife has an all wheel drive car…
