Week in photos, still no video edition

May 17, 2020 09:20

Last Sunday my wife and I went up to the center of town to walk around some.

And, play Pokemon Go…

Not a lot of folks walking about the cemetery, so we walked through there.

It was windy and not very warm, so we didn’t spend a huge amount of time there.

Many mornings this week there was still frost on the roofs. It didn’t last long once the sun came up.

Every Sunday afternoon a performance group we like does live concerts. They’re also sharing videos of old shows.
The harbor cruise one they were showing last week was one my wife and I attended. We were surprisingly happy to be able to spot ourselves in the far back.

I’m just going to drop this photo here…

The pollen level here is still quite bad. We’re in the last red area in the upper right.

The weather has gone between frost warnings to tornado watches this week.

This seems to have confused Pokemon Go, which now lists every weather condition as potentially hazardous.

One of the problems I have with doing video conferences on my laptop is the light behind my head. So, I’ve rigged up a phoenix kit to defuse it.

Friday afternoon my department just did a social video conference anyhow. And, then I was in the spare room, so no phoenix background.
If you’re interested, that’s my boss in the lower left.

Later Friday night we did another on-line game night.

https://boardgamearena.com has a bunch of games you can play on line.
We started with a volcano game.

As we played that storm system with possible tornadoes came towards us.

Then, we switched to one of those color matching games. I did well at that as I had read the scoring rules and the others didn’t…

Then, a monster building game.

By then we were all in the storm. The three of us playing are the three circles.

Our host, who has the paid account at the web site, lost power due to the storm.

But, we had a good time for a bit.

This year, for the first time, Phoenix Swords was going to be performing at the New Hampshire Renaissance Faire.
Due to the plague, it was cancelled.

But, this week and next they are doing an on line version over Facebook. We submitted video for it, and was told we’d be on next week.
I kept it on my feed this week, just to check out other acts.

One of the other groups is a sword group we almost sort of compete with. We do different things, but it’s pretty rare for one show to want us both.

While this was going on, we were having an on-line troupe meeting to discuss this and other shows later this year.

As I kept the other screen going on the side, I suddenly saw our video start!

We were not on the schedule. (Green arrow is where our video came on.)

I guess the good news was a bunch of folks in the troupe was on line when it happened, so got to see it.

They only played our sword fighting video, so I think next week they’ll show our fire.
But, who knows?
