One of the things that impressed me most about the Galaxy’s Edge at Disney was just how well they made it seem disconnected from the park and city around it.
The park is ringed by hotels, some quite tall. There are "mountains" and "towers" as part of the rest of the park.
The Disney Train ride runs over the opening to the land.
You don’t see of hear any of it.
When you’re there, you see the planet Batu, not a Disney park or Anaheim.
The folks who work there don’t break character either.
Even the folks sweeping the floor will insist they’re sweeping the floor of Batu.
There was only one place it broke. While waiting to make my lightsaber, I did see something from the rest of the park. Can you spot it?
You can see the mast of the sailing ship in Frontierland go past. It is only visible for about 30 seconds. But, it’s there. It is the only time I saw the illusion break.
Once those trees grow up some, even that won’t happen…
