Week in photos

Monday I had to have one of those procedures where they put cameras where I don’t want them. This takes a couple of days of preparation that is less than fun.

So, I decided to skip sword practice last week. I hadn’t started the main prep yet, but was still on the liquid only part that meant staying close to a bathroom a lot.

But, Sunday was also the street festival in Worcester. And, I really, really like that.
So, my wife went off there just as it opened.

We parked in our normal spot and made it to where the bathrooms were in time.

The festival was good, as it always is.

As someone who hates labels, I took part in this.

My wife and I both liked the special umbrella the art museum had there.

We walked the length of it and back.

The sword group in the area founded by the guy I’m not a fan of was there.

I didn’t stop in.

After that I went home and my wife went off to sword practice.

Monday morning I stayed home and did my preparation. I tried sleeping late, but the workmen in our apartment complex decided to pull the sides off our bedroom and replace them that morning.

The procedure went well enough. More tests are being done. It doesn’t look like I have cancer, but they’ll let me know for sure if I do in a few weeks.
As I still qualify as very high risk, I go back for more in 2 years instead of the usual 10.
Not something I’m happy about.

Tuesday we got the remains of the hurricane that went through the Carolinas last week.

But, overall the week wasn’t bad.

It was occasionally dramatic.

Friday my wife and I went for our eye exam. The traffic was totally against us and we arrived late. Other things didn’t help that.

But, it was worse in the bathrooms where they were totally missing the toilet…

Other than the big blind spot from 2 years ago, my eyes are very good.
The doctor said he couldn’t say how good because his chart only goes to 20/15 and I hit that without problem.
I told him I should do the Bugs Bunny read the last line joke of "M.A.D.E.I.N.T.H.E.U.S.A".

He did say there was little chance of the blindness from 2 years ago getting any better. The improvement from the spring test is probably me getting better at the test.

I know that is realistic. But, I also know that some of my vision range has recovered as there was a big vertical blind area where I can now see.
So, who knows. Hopefully it won’t get worse.
