It was a 3 day weekend where my wife and I didn’t have a whole lot planned. And, all that was planned was for Saturday.
So, Saturday morning we got up and went out for breakfast.
Then we drove up to Clinton (not named for the president) to the icon museum.
http://museumofrussianicons.org/en/I guess it used to be a jail.
Now it is an icon museum. Go figure.
It is not a big museum, but they do have a lot of icons.
Lots and lots of icons.
But, places to sit too…
And, eggs…
Big icons.
Small icons.
Folding icons.
Saint George.
Dam busting angles.
Then, off again past the lake.
As it is independence day weekend, everyone is very patriotic…
Then, we headed down to Connecticut. Traffic on the turnpike was again bad, but OK in CT.
Our new member of Phoenix, Ian, had just graduated from college and his wife was having a party.
My wife’s attention was taken up quite a bit by one guest.
The guest of honor seemed quite happy about his party.
The kids had sack races. This isn’t how I did it as a kid.
Then, off again home.
This sign in the capitol of Connecticut sums up a lot of my feelings about politics and government.
It isn’t a bad drive home.
We were still happy to get home.
Today I went out for food and that was it.
Yay.
