Long time coming
It’s been a long time coming, and this post is probably just for my own sense of closure, but still - it’s time for me to say goodbye to this journal & book blog.
I’ve been blogging here since probably late high school, but I didn’t get serious about it until I graduated from college, when I became determined to review every book I read. Back then, when I was stuck in a terrible job with a nightmare boss, book blogging became a lifeline for me - a way for me to validate my own thoughts and opinions during a time when I felt none of them mattered, at least between the hours of 9 to 5. It was a way for me to keep my imagination alive, and to immerse myself in something that 100% belonged to me and no one else.
I quickly moved on from that job, but I kept up my book blogging, mostly out of habit. Plus, it was fun to connect with other readers, to compare our thoughts on various books, and to get their recommendations whenever I needed a new book to read.
But all good things must come to an end, and I’m ready to move on. Of course, I’m still reading like crazy, but I no longer feel the need to post about everything I’ve read. And who knows, never say never - maybe I’ll be back again in the not-too-distant future in a different form. In the meantime, I can, however, be found on my Tumblr.
So thank you, blog. Thank you, readers. Keep on reading, and see you around!
