I want my old hairdresser back

Can I just say: AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I hate, hate getting haircuts. You never really going to get what you want; only what the hair dresser has in mind.

I went to the salon today, hoping to get a good couple of inches off and layered--not like some complicated prom hairdo, right? So, so wrong. For me, a visit to the hair dresser is already traumatizing because I never remember to wear my contacts; I'm practically blind in that chair. But a second bad sign on top of that was that my hair stylist was honestly Edward Scissorhands reincarnated, and not as talented either. He'd just take his shears and start cutting sideways or cutting off random bits and pieces. Watching his fuzzy outline in the mirror, attacking my hair like it was a giant hedge row, I could hardly wait to see the outcome.

So now...my head looks like a mushroom. Especially since they've flat-ironed it to death so that my thick hair just...sits on top of my head. Arg. What to do. Doesn't anyone know how to deal with thick, wavy Filipina hair?! I've had it with cheap places. When it comes to hair, I'll just suck up the price for a good salon from now on.
