Summary: Tohru awakes to breakfast in bed from her boys.
A/N: I chose the name Hajime for Kyo and Tohru's kid because it means "beginning". I really liked the thought of it. kinda fits with "a new banquet". :3 Also this is part of my short shot collective Together, Holding Hands.
Tohru didn't want to get up yet. She covered her head with the blanket and was about to close her eyes when she heard a clanging noise. She sat up and listened. Voices could be heard in the kitchen along with giggling.
The smell of pancakes wafted into the bedroom and her stomach growled. Just as she was getting out of bed, the door flew open.
"Mommy! We made you breakfast, don't get up!"
Tohru slumped back into the bed and watched as her five year old son, Hajime, carefully brought the tray into the bedroom. She could tell he was concentrating hard on not spilling it and she wondered what the occasion was.
Hajime sat the tray down on the bed carefully and then jetted out of the room with a grin on his face. She shrugged and began eating the mile high stack of pancakes on her plate.
She had taken a few bites when Hajime came back dragging Kyo along behind him. Tohru started laughing when they entered the room.
"What's so funny?" Kyo growled out, trying to hide a smile. Okay, so he knew what she was laughing at. He was covered from head to toe in syrup and flour. Hajime thought it would be fun to have a food fight and Kyo got caught up in the game. He couldn't help it he was competitive and their son had the same fighting spirit. The kitchen was destroyed and Kyo thought that maybe making Tohru breakfast in bed wasn't such a good idea after all.
"Daddy and I had a food fight!" the five year old exclaimed, jumping up and down. "And I won!"
"Wait a minute, who says you win?" the former cat asked. "You cheated! You hid behind the counter and I couldn't get one hit!"
With that, Hajime took off yelling "Alright dad! I'll give you another chance to beat me, come on!"
Tohru watched as the two ran off down the hallway and into the kitchen. She was lucky to have them in her life and she loved them dearly, but she was not looking forward to cleaning the mess.
"If I have to clean it up, I might as well be apart of it!" she thought as she took off down the hallway to join them.
