Summary: Ayame pays a visit and starts trouble for Kyo by asking about his love poem diary!
A/N: spoilers for volume 12. I wrote this last year, I think.
For Kyo, the best days were the ones when Yuki wasn't around, Shigure wasn't being a perv(which was never!), and watching Tohru walk around with that goofy smile on her face.
Unfortunately today wasn't one of those days. Yuki was home, Shigure was being a pervert..the only thing that was always the same was Tohru's goofy smile, but it was because Ayame was visiting. It was when Ayame was around that Kyo actually felt a little sorry for Yuki.
Kyo tried to sneak past the kitchen where everyone was gathered, hoping and praying that the stupid, over the top snake wouldn't see him.
"Why if it isn't Kyonkichi! Shouldn't you be writing in your love poem diary?" Ayame asked without even cracking a smile.
Kyo froze. Damn it all! He thought he had made it past everyone.
"Yes Kyo, where is this love poem diary? We'd love to read it."
damn that Shigure.
"Kyo-kun, you have a diary?" Tohru asked tentatively.
"HELL NO I..."
at that moment, Momiji walked through the door.
"Whaaa, Kyo has a diary? I bet it's filled with all sorts of mushy stuff about Tohru!"
Kyo's face went from completely pissed off to completely embarrassed. He whacked Momiji in the head and jetted out of the room, straight for the roof.
"Gah, i wish they'd just leave me alone!" Kyo screamed into the sky.
"Kyo-kun? Are you up here?" Tohru asked, peeking over the top of the roof. He should have known she'd follow him up there, she always does.
"You stormed out so quickly, I just wanted to make sure that you're ok." she said as she plopped down next to him.
"Yeh, i'm fine." the cat said, looking the other direction. He didn't want her to see the blush staining his cheeks.
"You know, Kyo-kun...It's ok if you have a diary. Everyone needs to have a place to talk about their feelings."
Kyo stole a glance at Tohru. She looked so serious at that moment, he thought she was beautiful. He'd never tell her that though.
"I don't have a diary and even if I did, I wouldn't even know what to write in it."
"You could write all sorts of things in it! Like how you feel about martial arts!" Tohru smiled and looked over to Kyo who had a thoughtful expression on his face.
She wondered if she had said something wrong and was about to apologize when Kyo moved closer to her. She watched as he took a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear. He was about to say something when their was a loud commotion below them.
"KYONKICHI! Are you taking advantage of our little flower?" Ayame yelled from below.
Kyo felt the hairs on his neck raise up with his anger.
"DAMN IT, WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!" he yelled as he jumped off the roof and bolted inside, straight for his room.
"Guess we made him mad." Shigure said as he watched Tohru climb down from the roof.
"Tohru, are you alright?" Momiji asked, head cocked to one side.
Tohru didn't say anything as she went inside, but everyone took notice of the blush on her face.
