Sunshine and cool, and supposed to be the best day of the week, so I am off to the cabin for most of the day; there are two projects that need attention, so perhaps one of two might be addressed today. Of course the most important one is to try the fish once more; the snow was so deep on the dam, that I was thinking lack of oxygen might have done them in last winter. Each time I checked the shore, there was no evidence of dead fish, and one advantage might have been they were all very small when we stocked it last fall.
I wonder if they minded spending those three months in almost total darkness. I know I would if I were a fish, so I want to try again to at least get a nibble. Maybe today will be the time I will find out what has gone on there.
There was no snow right here, but snow in the Black Hills and frost heavy this morning, probably the end of the beautiful apple and plum blossoms. The Old Woman in the Sky does as she pleases, and we learn to live with Her.
Across the street lives one of the sweetest all white kittens full of the most playfulness more so than any kitten I have ever seen, and being a cat person for all these years, I have seen quite a number of cats and kittens. They named her Lily, and a few days ago she was outside and I hollored across the street “Hi Lily” and of course, the song came right into my head: Hi Lily Hi Low; then I have to go on internet and find the lyrics, even though, to my surprise, I did remember most of the words….and have been singing it every since.
And just because I mentioned it, I hope you who read this will be humming or singing it, too, so I am adding the lyrics….

A song of love is a sad song,
Hi lily, hi lily, hi low.
A song of love is a song of woe,
Don't ask me how I know.
A song of love is a sad song,
For I've had a love and its so.
I sit by my window and watch the rain,
Hi lily, hi lily, hi low,
Tomorrow, I'll probably love again,
Hi lilly, hi lilly, hi low.
Enjoy….
PS: I am confused because it took several tries to get this posted; when one clicks on
the wrong box, and can't take it back, I finally just got out of it all and tried again. This time,
it mostly worked....I hope your day has been better than this attempt to post,
and it was hardly worth the effort; however, when I start something, even when it turns
out badly, I keep going back until I get it right, or almost right....feb
