Friday's rec
I've spent all of today walking around the International Cake Fair, my feet are tired, my legs ache but I am bursting with ideas for new cakes. Now I'm shattered I'm going to sit down and re-read this amazing fic:
Reason for Life by Serade Black

It's a Hermione/Sirius Black fic I read a while ago and It is a great story. Hermione sees Sirius these days looking all moody and glum and decides to go back in time to let him know he will have something to live for in the future. She knows she can't change time and knows that she can't interact with him. Epic fail on pretty much all counts.
It starts a little slow with you wondering when she's going to go back but by chapter 5 it really hits it's stride.
It's a very well written story which bypasses all of the usual Hermione suddenly becomes a goddess angle. The plot is well paced and nicely executed and the description is very detailed but doesn't bog the story around.
Reactions and dialogue are also very in character and I really enjoyed the fic.
Two minor issues to me were the over-use of the word romantic- especially in later chapters (how can someone's hair be romantic? seriously?) and the constant descriptions of Sirius' hair. He has epic hair and looks hot. We get it.
Other than those two things It is one of the best Sirius/Hermione fics I've read to date and I totally recommend it.
