“Healer Longbottom!”

Neville turned around, his long white robe swirling with him. His cup of tea almost slipped from his fingers as he stumbled forward, tripping on his shoelace. "Y-yes?"

Staci sighed, her eyes softening as she took in his unkempt appearance. She reached out straightening his tie and smoothing down his hair. "You forgot, didn't you?"

His stomach plummeted. What could he have forgotten this late? It certainly wasn't a patient; his pocket schedule was completely crossed out for the day. He fumbled with his tea, bringing it to his lips to mask his nervous state. Staci was always so nice to him. He really hoped he hadn't screwed up too badly.

"Neville. I told you to write it down last week."

"I'm sorry?"

She smiled and shook her head. "No matter. I found you a date anyways, since I know you wouldn't have gotten one yourself."

"What, who?"

He really did not like that twinkle in her eye. She set him up on dates nearly once every two weeks, and none of them had turned out right. He supposed it might have something to do with the fact that all the people she tried to hook him up with were the wrong gender. When would she ever learn he was into blo--

"He was a patient not too long ago,” she answered, her brown eyes were still twinkling. Neville pondered bolting from the hospital like a terrified animal. “Took quite a shining to you, he did."

"No-no." His eyes widened in horror. "Staci, you didn't!"

Someone tapped him on the shoulder and this time his tea did slosh all over the place. Miserable, embarrassed, and not to mention outraged, he turned around feeling sick to his stomach.

"Healer Longbottom."

Neville's eyes flickered up, chancing a shy glance at the tall, aristocratic man. "Mr. Malfoy."

"Come, we're late."

He began to panic. "Late for what?"

Malfoy snorted, gripping Neville's arm with much more care than the younger man had anticipated. "We're going dancing."

"I don't want to dance."

Neville swallowed around the lump in his throat as the elder Malfoy sized him up. Blue eyes scanned his body from head to toe, and Neville squirmed.

"But, I've heard you are excellent at it."

"Well, yes I am a fair dancer but--"

"Good that settles it." Neville had no choice. Lucius Malfoy ushered him out of the lobby, and Neville could only wave good-bye. This was going to be a very long night. He could already tell.
