Asking someone out that I had crushed on all year and getting rejected, or maybe reciting all 48 prepositions, or maybe breaking down during Academic Fair, or getting stuck cutting up a sheep's heart myself because Jason Hawkes was a complete jerk and started stabbing it, or watching people live in cardboard boxes, or pissing off our band instructor so badly he got disappointed and walked into his office and shut the door silently, or the gummie bear on the ceiling of our cafe, or.....watching eggs inflate, or making hot air balloons and getting them stuck in trees, or going to a lock in, getting into a sumo suit, and get knocked over and out and getting a concussion and having to wear a neck brace for a few days, Ventures and getting out of my lit class, stage crew and getting yelled at for breaking something that the other Heather did, 9/11 and thinking one of my friend's dads died on one of the planes, delivering packages to teachers during recess, smacking one of the boys in the class with a ruler, watching the first Harry Potter movie with the eleven other kids who didn't go on the 8th grade trip, getting stung by a bee in December while practicing marching outside for the Christmas parade, Heritage fair, Mrs. Wolff jumping up and down in the trailers and having the class next door know exactly what happened, discovering history was uber for me, playing Model Song and Dance, sitting in front of Kaleigh and Eric in band and having them purposefully turn to face me and blast their trumpets in my ear, watching Dead Poets Society for the first time, singing It's a small world ten times in a row for a Diversity fair, stage crew for Peter Pan and having someone trip over the cord for the lamp and breaking it opening night, the entire audience gasped, good times, getting the entire cast to sign Nana's dog house, Stand and Deliver, not even a good movie, why did they make such a big deal about it! Really freaking thin lockers, big binders, you do the math, The Candle of Knowledge, I got one along with Eric and Kaleigh (we were like a trio that didn't know we were one, whats up with that?!), The Butterfly fell and a man died, you figure out the riddle I'm not telling you the answer, Mrs. Latham, reading Catcher and the Rye and not finishing it and then comparing it to a Guns N'Roses song, Lord of the Flies and having to sit out of discussions because unlike everyone else I actually read fast! Holocaust lady made a speech, doing the body tracing and filling in muscles and bones and stuff, Being disgusted by Kaleigh putting different flavored sherbet in Chocolate milk, discovering people put ranch dressing on Pizza, Josh Hartnet was the biggest thing since sliced bread, or so it seemed, all the bomb scares, a fire drill that took us through the woods and to my church, which was about a fifteen minute walk, in case the school explodes or something, Dunkin Donut runs with my mum, she worked/still works in my middle school, graduating in the gym at PA, which is still funny to me, the dance after it where I learned how to waltz, with my crush, who had already rejected me, singing a Green Day song two octaves too high, cutting my hair shorter than it is now and accidentally dyeing it red, wearing these bell bottoms from the 70s (I kid you not) that were my uncle’s ex-girlfriends, they were big and white and comfy and ugly as sin, getting a solo in the Christmas concert and being ecstatic about it, band, just in general, it was all good, chorus with Katie hahaha, silk screening, I made a pillow case! I owned a shirt with Velcro on it and people kept writing silly/dirty things with the Velcro letters, not participating in gym except to play capture the flag and bombardment, square dancing, gosh we’re hicks, writing love notes to my mom with my friends on her white board during lunch, being a science aide but wanting to be a band aide sooooo badly, and being an honorary office aide, I got to help change the signs outside the school, getting our schools name changed back so we didn’t have to graduate with the school name Robert P. Little Middle School, having the first color yearbook, the Canobie trip, talking about poverty and having a day where people either got to eat pizza or rice for lunch by random drawing, I got pizza, Kaleigh and Katie got rice, Katie was very displeased, eating chinese food for no particular reason, and yeah, I think I babbled enough now.
