I need to have started my merlin_muses fic two weeks ago. The prompt isn't going to allow for a short fic but GOODNESS do I LOVE that prompt. Problem is I apparently have the attention span of a toddler after eating a bag of M&Ms and can't focus on RP and fic at the same time

STOP MISSING IT. NO, seriously. If I knew I wouldn't get suckered right back into at least one of them, I'd quit here and now. But I can't and it's been keeping me up until 5am, killing my sleep habits, breaking my work ethic, destroying my writing ability and might accidentally be responsible for making me fail a class once.

You have just described my LIFE a couple of years ago, oh my god. RP is such a time-suck, and you're just up till 5am in a thread because your co-players at the moment live in australia, or you're IM'ing for hours not even leaving your chair, or you're having big party posts, or you're angsting over plots, reading other peoples' threads, and generally forgetting to read your actual LJ for days on end, or there's drama between this player and that player and people are gossiping at you about it, and omg. Trying to stay away from it at work or school is impossible.

Which is why the LAST thing I need to do is get into another one. i'm not curious about this other game, not at allllll lalala

Seriously, I was up until 5am last night just because two of my characters were unexpectedly chosen as the favorites of Apollo and Hermes. It sounds intensely cool in my brain UNTIL I WAKE UP AT NOON AND KNOW IVE ONLY HAD 7 HOURS OF SLEEP AND AM A LOSER LIKE THAT. I try to avoid the drama like the plague, but it has occasionally found me and that's an even bigger drain because it starts affecting the emotional side too. One of my games made it onto fandom_wank a year or two ago because one of the players flounced out spamming everything when she left.

It's been surreal. I don't even know how to turn it off. HOW DID YOU MANAGE?
