One day, the depressing posts from me will end. I swore 2009 would be better than 2008, but if anything, it seems to be getting steadily worse. I don't even know if I've got anything to get worked up about yet

My sister appealed to the dean at her school and managed to arrange a loan to cover what she was short one year. She hadn't told my parents just how bad it was, then went to the dean and he arranged to help her out. I know a number of schools here provide for such things as well.

Take a step back and think it through. Are their grants or scholarships you can get? Student loans? How about a part time job to help with expenses? If all you can afford is the basic meal plan, well, a lot of college students live on mac and cheese and ramen noodles. Not glamorous, but it fills your tummy and is cheap. Good luck!
