He doesn't need to. I'm in the firm state of mind, that in those seconds where Harry couldn't see Snape but Voldemort and Nagini left the room, Snape took some anti venom and blood replenishing potions.

I mean, seriously. Just a few paragraphs before Harry said he thought Snape looked dead to him when Snape talked to Voldemort and if his lips weren't moving no one would no better. I bet Snape play acted to get Harry out so he could focus on what he was supposed to do. /speculation.
